Questions

Everything you might be wondering.

What sample do I send? +
A few fresh chest feathers with the quill tip is best. We also accept eggshells from hatched chicks, though results are only reliable when the shell is collected cleanly and promptly.
How long do results take? +
Typically around one week from shipping, including transit to and from the lab. You'll see the status change live in the portal and get a notification the moment results are issued.
How accurate is DNA sexing? +
DNA sexing is the gold standard for monomorphic species, where visual sexing isn't possible — performed by Morinha Lab using PCR and real-time PCR.
Do I get a certificate? +
Yes — every issued result comes with a downloadable PDF certificate you can share with buyers and registries.
Can I submit on behalf of customers? +
Absolutely. Shop and vendor accounts can register birds and manage testing for their own customers, each with their own credits and records.
How does pricing work? +
Individual customers contact us for a per-sample quote; shops and vendors contact us for credit pricing. Volume rates (100 / 500 / 1,000 / 2,000+ samples) are on the way — for now, just get in touch.
